The Judy Awards cover a range of contributions to the college, from traditional awards in teaching, research and service, to those that foreground the pillars of the University’s public affairs mission.

Nominations for the 2024 Judy Awards are being accepted through 5 p.m. on March 18, 2024. Please review the following award descriptions and submit your nominations soon.

Judy Award Descriptions

Outstanding Research in the Arts Award

This award recognizes an individual in RCASH who has demonstrated research excellence in the arts.

Outstanding Research in the Humanities Award

This award recognizes an individual in RCASH who has demonstrated research excellence in the humanities.

Outstanding Research in the Social Sciences Award

This award recognizes an individual in RCASH who has demonstrated research excellence in the social sciences.

Outstanding Teaching in the Arts Award

This award recognizes an individual in RCASH who has demonstrated teaching excellence in the arts.

Outstanding Teaching in the Humanities Award

This award recognizes an individual in RCASH who has demonstrated teaching excellence in the humanities.

Outstanding Teaching in the Social Sciences Award

This award recognizes an individual in RCASH who has demonstrated teaching excellence in the social sciences.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration Award

This award recognizes two members of RCASH from different departments/schools who have worked together on a meaningful project, program or publication.

Inclusive Engagement Award

This award recognizes a member of RCASH who has demonstrated a dedicated effort to MSU’s inclusive engagement principles.

Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award

This award recognizes an RCASH graduate student who has demonstrated exceptional research promise.

Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award

This award recognizes an RCASH graduate teaching assistant who has demonstrated exceptional work in the classroom.

Community Citizenship Award

This award recognizes an individual in RCASH whose work impacts the community in positive and meaningful ways.

Staff Impact Award

This award recognizes an RCASH staff member whose work positively impacts the college.

Dean’s Legacy Award

This award recognizes an individual whose legacy has had a lasting impact on RCASH.

Dean’s Champion Award

This award recognizes an individual or organization whose work impacts RCASH in a positive way.

Dean’s Alumnus Award

This award recognizes an RCASH graduate who has demonstrated exceptional achievement.

Dean’s Award of Distinction

This award recognizes an RCASH department, school or program that has demonstrated excellence over the past year.

The 3rd Annual Judy Awards ceremony is scheduled for May 3, 2024, at the Old Glass Place (521 E. Saint Louis St., Springfield, Missouri). Cocktails and hors d’oevres start at 5:30 p.m. Awards ceremony at 7 p.m.
